Is James close to his Real Madrid farewell?

Wednesday's training could be the last group session James Rodriguez takes part in as a Real Madrid player.

The Colombian international trained with the rest of his teammates on Tuesday but it is doubtful whether he will make the squad for Los Blancos' Champions League game against Manchester City.

Real Madrid will be training in England on Thursday and James is not expected to make the trip as he had already asked not to be called up for the team's last games in LaLiga Santander.

In the event that Los Blancos get knocked out by the City on Friday, the players will go directly on holiday and there will be no more training sessions until they return.

James will try to find a way out and everything indicates that he will miss the Champions League Round of 16 return leg in Manchester.

Should Real Madrid eliminate Pep Guardiola's side, the Colombian playmaker will join the group for training again but it will be unclear whether he will travel to Lisbon for the final eight phase.

The logical thing would be for Zinedine Zidane to call up James as his team may play up to three games on Portuguese soil.

The 29-year-old attacking midfielder has one year left on his Real Madrid contract with both James and club willing to find him a new team as soon as possible.
